Hi!
I’m a idiosyncratic, opinionated, bohemian mother of 4 with a somewhat (by that I mean “very”) strange sense of humor. I’m also a (proudly) recovering drug addict. I became an addict at 14, a mother at 16, a wife at 20, sober at 26, and a blogger at 33. I have three boys (17, 12, & 11), and one daughter (10). I separated from my Husband of 13 years about 6 months ago (as of March 2013). I struggle, as do we all, but most of the time I can look you in the eye and tell you that I’m doing the absolute best I can at this time. I’ve got a long way to go, but I have came even further.
Raising children is an…..interesting task by itself, and raising special needs children adds additional flavor. I decided to start a blog because I desperately needed an outlet for my thoughts. If someone finds them helpful, or interesting along the way that is an added blessing, and more than I had hoped for. I didn’t realize how much I would look forward to feedback and participation until I got started, so please feel free to comment. You can disagree, share your experiences, ask questions, give advice, or whatever else you feel you want to contribute (with the exception of spam :-)). Top left, big W, Hit that, go to reader, look for a topic, or search one, Follow another few and add them, or do what others do, just go with what you got, and add the rest at a later date, but say so in your blog. No biggy, the Awards are fun. How we connect, read and share is more important.

Thanks for the nod with the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. Unfortunately, the blog I am doing is for the Fulbright folks who are graciously paying for me to be in Finland and study the educational system here, so while under their wing, I want to be careful about posts that are not related in some way to my research (okay the Finnish hockey post now seems completely contradictory…)
In any case, what I did do (and what I hope you don’t judge me for because these blog awards are such an awesome thing and only spread good love and juju) is post a link to you blog in my sidebar (and the person who nominated you, because I really like his stuff too and was confused at first, so was checking out his page and not yours) and I did nominate a few others privately, so that I could still be spreading the love and not be being a total sloth. I told them to come look at your page or shaun’s to get the real rules and to pretend that they never witnessed me being such a cow-tow to the man, which I hope you can understand and do too.
I love your header picture, btw and your post about your cat almost made ME choke on my dinner I was laughing so much.

First, you are so funny how could anyone be upset with you?? Second, I am not, would not be upset in the least. The truth is these awards can be so time consuming that many people just can’t do them, or have reasons much like your own. So don’t feel alone 🙂 . I feel it’s really more about letting someone know you appreciate their blog, and connecting/supporting people in the blogging community. See, we’ve connected already!!! I appreciate the nod back on your blog, and your nominations (on-the-down-low of course) so much!! I’m also very happy you recognized Shaun, he’s so awesome. Hi Shaun! I’m SO sorry it took so long to respond. My daughter has been in the hospital & had to have surgery. That whole process threw the rest of my house (esp. Michael) into a tailspin & it’s been crazy around here. I just haven’t been able to get on WordPress. Thank-you so much & I REALLY would like to try and accept the award, I’m just not sure I will be able to do it right now. It may even be too late now.
